We are currently looking for oustanding candidates for 2 postdoctoral fellows in Theoretical and Computational Astrophysics

The Theoretical Astrophysics Group (TAG) in the Center for Theoretical Astronomy at Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASI) invites applications for two postdoctoral fellow positions to work with Dr. Thiem Hoang. The appointment is expected to start from July 1st, 2021, but the exact date is negotiable. The initial appointment is for 2 years, with possible extension to the third year, depending on research performance.

We are looking for excellent candidates with a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Physics and strong background in theoretical astrophysics or computational astrophysics. However, priority will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience in one of the following topics: dust astrophysics, CMB foregrounds, interstellar magnetic fields, star and planet formation, MHD simulations, radiative transfer, and astrochemistry. The successful candidate will work with Dr. Thiem Hoang on the topics of mutual interests in the aforementioned areas. We offer an internationally competitive package of salary and benefits, and an additional research fund of ~7,000 USD per year will be provided. Postdoctoral fellows are also eligible to apply for their own grants from the National Research Foundation.

Call for Ph.D Students (Closed)

We are looking for highly motivated Ph.D students to work at the interface between Theoretical Astrophysics and Cosmology.
Requirements: Basic requirements for admission to the University of Science and Technology (UST) include: English (TOEFL iBT 79, CBT 213, PBT 550; TOEIC 730; IELTS 6). Students with strong background in Astrophysics or Physics are welcome to apply.
Financial support: The successful candidate will be offered a full scholarship, including a generous salary of 1,500 USD/month and tuition fee. Budget for travel to international conferences and seminars is provided.
